There are many elements to our boudoir sessions that make the experience exhilarating. But, the specifics that make each client different—from the wardrobe, makeup, and hair—are the most exciting part to me.
I had a fabulous client Jess come in a while ago and she blew me away. Her energy and ideas made her a dream to work with.
Whether you are a new client or a veteran of boudoir photography, it can be helpful to see what other women do during their sessions. Sometimes we have to see what is possible for others before we can see ourselves doing it.
Women can inspire us when they are being their true selves. That’s why I am thrilled to show you some photos from my session with Jess.
Her wardrobe and accessory choices really brought out her personality.
The in-between the sheets portion of our shoot was straight from a music video. Jess channeled her sensual energy and became a seductress. Using the silk sheets was a great option for a prop. It’s a way to lean into being sexy without showing a lot of skin.
The silky red ocean these sheets create leaves plenty to the imagination. Perfect for any client’s comfort level.
Pearls are a boudoir girl's best friend. They are effortlessly classy and versatile. Day to day, we simply wear them as necklaces or earrings but boudoir photography can open another realm of possibilities.
They can be a long chain draped down your back. This is a great way to show off your backside, especially if that is your favorite body part.
With my coaching, pearls are an accessory that can frame your favorite features. Collarbones, shoulder blades, back dimples…it’s endless!
Lingerie is a classic boudoir choice!
For your session, you can bring your favorite piece of lingerie or something special. Just make sure you’ve tried it on beforehand.
Lingerie channels divine energy for all my clients in the studio. But it’s never the same for any two women. That’s what makes it so exciting.
Since lingerie comes in so many colors and textures, it’s the perfect way to show off your personality.
Velvet is soft and maybe that’s the energy you want for your session.
Or are you more of an animal print kind of gal? Bring that spice and sass to your session.
Or possibly a leather vixen? Bring the edge and fearlessness to your session.
For Jess, the pink is channels so many feminist icons. Who doesn’t love Elle Woods? In pink, she is definitely a woman who knows what she wants.
This color choice is flirty and feminine. But also feels like you want Jess to be your best friend. A life of the party, wine night kind of girl.
Boudoir doesn’t have to just be about sensual energy. You can channel any kind of confident energy you want.
Jess is definitely the girl next door that your parents can’t stop asking about in this outfit.
