AMAZING LOCAL PLACES TO VISIT PRIOR TO YOUR BOUDOIR SESSION

HELENA IS AN FANTASTIC PLACE TO LIVE. WE HAVE AMAZING TRAIL, GOURMET FOOD, AND SOME OF THE BEST BREWERIES IN THE STATE. HERE ARE SOME OF THE BEST PLACES IN TOWN TO VISIT IN PREPARATION FOR YOUR BOUDOIR PHOTO SHOOT.

SKIN

Let’s talk about your skin. DO moisturize your skin for a natural glow. Glossy, moisturized skin photographs well and also bring out muscle definition and tone. As a general rule, don’t do anything too crazy beforehand (i.e. don’t get a facial or your eyebrows waxed for the first time the day before your shoot), because you never know how your skin may react. If you want to get waxed I suggest booking roughly 5-7 before your session. Ashley Hurt at Mahalo Spa is AMAZING for body waxing and Monica at Capital Hill Barber and Salon does killer brows.

TANNING

Lets talk tanning. You don’t need it, but I know many of you love that sun-kissed glow. Here are my suggestions. DO NOT go too dark, you will look orange and I can not change that! DO NOT over use self-tanners, you will look blotchy and streaky and I can not change that! DO NOT get a burn, you will look red and I can not change that! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE go to the professionals if you choose to tan. Stacye at The Tannery is super informative and can help you achieve that sun-kissed glow without burning. If traditional tanning isn’t your thing, go over and visit Stef at Apricity. She is a master at airbrush spray tans. Tell her you are having a session and she will work her magic about 3 days before your session.

NAILS

Nail polish. That 2 week old polish that is chipping off is not going to look good, so either have a fresh coat of polish or non at all. If you can afford it, go and treat yourself to a manicure and/or a pedicure. Because this is all about feeling beautiful and who doesn’t love to get their nails done. French tips and neutrals always look classy. Looking for an fantastic nail tech? Tami at Karma Nail Salon and Larissa at Capital Hill Barber and Salon.

WHAT TO WEAR

Bring clothing that makes you FEEL sexy, not what you THINK is sexy. It's all about self-expression. Lingerie can be flirty, sporty, ultra-femme and everything in between. The sexiest clothing items to bring are pieces that you feel confident in. Perhaps a slouchy top, cropped soft sweaters, a button-down shirt, sheer slips/teddies, or favorite tee shirt. Unfortunately we don't have many lingerie options in town, but there are a few of my favorite local shops and there is always online.

Shop Local:

·        Suelto Lingerie

·        The Poppyseed Boutique

Shop Online:

·        Hips and Curves

·        Free People

·        Soma

·        Fashion Nova

·        Forever 21 (Yes! Even for curvy gals)

·        Victoria Secret

ACCESSORIES

Personally, I don't like a lot of accessories when it comes to boudoir shoots. The focus should be you, not the items that you bring with you.
