Let’s talk about something real for a moment. We’ve all been there—staring at the mirror, picking ourselves apart, focusing on everything we think is wrong rather than seeing all that is so beautifully right.
That’s exactly where one of my recent clients was before her session. She walked into the studio feeling unsure, nervous, and—her words, not mine—"the skeptic of all skeptics."
The Pre-Session Thoughts:
When I asked her what she wanted me to know before her session, she didn’t hold back:
💭 "I am extremely hard on myself and struggle tremendously with confidence. I don’t feel sexy at all. My breasts aren’t terrible, my hair is okay... maybe my feet? But other than that—not much to be honest."
💭 "I’m doing this session because I’m hoping it helps me feel better about myself."
And, of course, the nerves kicked in:
💭 "Everything makes me nervous! I’m self-conscious about my inner thighs, arms, and apron belly. I lost 50 lbs, and now I have saggy skin."
Sound familiar? So many women come into my studio feeling this way. They worry about their so-called “flaws” and wonder if they’ll be able to see themselves the way the rest of the world sees them—strong, beautiful, worthy.
But here’s the thing… something magical happens when you step in front of the camera.
The Transformation
Fast forward to after her session, and here’s what she had to say:
💖 "I was the skeptic of all skeptics, but I am THRILLED with the images Misty did for me. I cannot thank her enough for the empowering experience I had in the studio."
💖 "I have struggled with body image and confidence my whole life. This was such a positive thing for my mental health. I would recommend her sessions to any woman!"
💖 "The whole experience was nothing short of amazing!"
Let That Sink In.
This is why I do what I do. Boudoir isn’t just about pretty pictures—it’s about seeing yourself in a whole new light. It’s about embracing the body that has carried you through life, the changes, the struggles, the victories. It’s about YOU stepping into your power.
To the skeptics out there—I see you. And I can’t wait for you to see yourself the way you deserve to be seen. 💫
