How to Slay Your Boudoir Shoot

I think I can speak for all of you when I say that you want to get the most out of your boudoir experience.

I mean... who wouldn't?!

Over the years, I’ve carefully designed our studio experience to cater to each clients' individual needs, wants, comfort level, and desires.  So, once you book your shoot, there will be nothing standing in your way of stepping into some next-level confidence.

Before shoot day, we'll be guiding you through each step of the process to make sure you walk into the studio with confidence.

I know that many of my clients, new and returning, still have some nerves surrounding their sessions which is totally normal.

So, I want to share with you my top five tips to help you slay your boudoir shoot:

  1. TRUST YOURSELF

In order to get the most out of your session, there needs to be a level of trust. Not just between you and me but also between you and yourself.

One thing I want every client to do during their sessions is to channel their most confident self. You came to show off! Remember what pushed you to book a session and own it.

These photos will be a reflection of your inner power and sensuality.

For more inspiration, my Instagram page features incredible women who I have had the pleasure of creating boudoir beauty in the past.

  2. TUNE INTO YOUR BODY

To create any boudoir magic, my muse (that’s you!) must be in tune with their body.

Not sure how do you get in tune with your body?

Well that's where I come in!

I'll be guiding you through a customized sequence of poses that will help you do so. I'll direct you from your head to your toes - including hand, foot, and hair placement. I'll also be paying attention to all the little details that go into creating the perfect shot so all you have to do is hold the pose and feel all the empowering feels.

If you’re like me, you practice getting in tune with your body throughout the week to help yourself stay centered through exercise, meditation, or an at home DIY boudoir shoot.

Getting in tune with your body for a boudoir shoot in the studio is no different...

Except it's far more glamorous and less sweaty!

  3. EASE YOUR NERVES

Do you know what it means to be nervous?

My mom always told me that, “If you’re nervous, that means that you care.”

And we want you to care!

Together, we can figure out a way for your nerves to motivate you instead of scare you. We can create an atmosphere that pumps you up with your favorite music and can start your session by building your confidence in ways that are familiar and exciting to you.

  4. BRING OUTFITS YOU ADORE

After booking your boudoir session, it will be time to start thinking about what you want to wear for your shoot. I think the best thing to look for are those pieces that you wouldn’t necessarily wear otherwise… because they will help you feel extra special and empowered during your shoot.

I also have a client closet that features hundreds of outfits in sizes XS-6X for you to pick from!

  5. EAT BREAKFAST AND HYDRATE

Shoots require a lot of energy and focus so make sure you come nourished. Skipping meals is bad for your health and makes you tired and sluggish.

We want you to look energized and glowing in your photos…

So drink that water and eat a breakfast you love the morning of your shoot.

Your boudoir shoot prep is a time to embrace the self-care… not neglect it.
