When we are young and we have an idea, we just act on it with no fears or self-doubt. As we get older and start to filter all our thoughts, we tend to look for external validation before acting.
If you have little ones in your life, you will likely know what I am talking about. Of course, this is what keeps us alive, safe, and able to function in society, but we can also look for external validation for things that don’t really need any validation at all!
For so many women, booking a boudoir photo shoot can bring up an array of insecurities. As a result, we can begin a running mental list of all the reasons why booking is a silly idea that should not be entertained.
Some common reasons that I hear from my clients are:
- “I need to lose weight first”
- “I am not fit enough”
- “I am not a model”
- “I shouldn’t spend money on myself”
- “I feel awkward in front of the camera”
***And the list could go on and on!
But babe, the confidence behind taking the leap to book comes from honoring the reasons why you do want to book a session in the first place and affirming that they are valid and worthy reasons.
Perhaps you are wanting to learn how to celebrate your body through all of life’s chapters, or maybe you want to learn how to embrace your sensuality... The reasons for wanting to book a session are endless. Ultimately, desiring to book a photoshoot is the only one you need. View our 30 Reasons to Book a Boudoir Photography Session.
And, feeling confident in your decision to book a photo shoot does not mean that the nerves won’t be there! In fact, having some nerves leading up to shoot day is completely normal and expected. Those nerves are a sign that you are excited and are anticipating the liberation that is on the other side of your photo shoot.
On top of that, if it’s the logistical side of your photo shoot that gives you the jitters, (ie. the financial investment, finding the right outfits, picking out your favorite products, etc) you can rest assured that my team and I will be guiding you through each step of the way.
We have customizable payment plan options, professional hair and makeup, session prep guides, and more resources to help you best prepare for your photo shoot.
